Under the title ‘Controversies in wrist surgery 2019’, the meeting counts on the collaboration of the European Wrist Arthroscopy Society (EWAS).
During the next days 16th to 19th, Dr. Piñal will be part of the international list of teachers of the triennial course on wrist surgery of the prestigious Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minnesota, USA).
This training action, aimed at orthopedic and plastic surgeons, is integrated into the Mayo program of continuous professional development for physicians. The meeting will address various items that cover the different pathologies of the wrist and the distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ), with special emphasis on the injuries of the radial segment of the wrist and the radiocarpal joint.
Within the general exposition of the latest techniques in arthroscopy and arthroplasty, Dr. Piñal will address the arthroscopic repair of complex fractures, fusion by arthroscopy and rescue surgery in intraarticular injuries.
The learning objectives of ‘Controversies in wrist surgery 2019’ go through the analysis of the most recent advances in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of thumb arthritis and the diagnosis and approach of scapholunate and perilunar injuries, in addition to these same aspects for ulnar pain of the wrist and instability of the distal radioulnar joint.
