Del Piñal, former fellow of the Christine M. Kleinert Institute Hand Surgery Fellowship, will occupy this Fall the honorific post for outstanding alumni

After proudly accepting the invitation of the Kleinert Kutz Hand Care Center, Dr. Francisco del Piñal will become this Fall the 19th Harold E. Kleinert and Joseph E. Kutz Visiting Professor in Hand and Microsurgery. Del Piñal is the first Spanish surgeon to occupy this honorific post.

During a week, Del Piñal will develop several teaching activities –including lectures, OR demonstrative sessions and technical meetings– in the framework of the Christine M. Kleinert Institute (CMKI) Hand Surgery Fellowship.

The Fellowship in hand surgery of the CMKI is a result of the collaboration between the Kleinert Kutz Hand Care Center and the University of Louisville School of Medicine (Kentucky, USA).

International reference

Since 1996 the annual honorific post Harold E. Kleinert and Joseph E. Kutz Visiting Professor has been occupied by several of the world’s leading experts in surgery and microsurgery of the upper limb.

After its foundation in 1960 –as educational and research branch of the Kleinert Kutz– the CMKI has trained more than 1250 physicians from 61 countries as Hand Fellows in advanced surgical techniques, becoming the world largest fellowship program of its kind.
