Israeli judoka Or Sasson continues to increase his achievements in the category of over 100 kg. of his discipline. To his two European championship silvers Kazan (Russia, 2016) and Baku (Azerbaijan, 2015),Sasson adds now the Olympic bronze after defeating Cuban Alex Garcia at the Carioca in Rio de Janeiro Arena last Friday.

His triumphs, despite a long career ahead, also include three European Open titles in Tallinn (Estonia, 2014), Warsaw (Poland, 2013) and Tbilisi (Georgia, 2013).

Precisely in Brazil during the World Judo Championship in August 2013, Sasson suffered a complex ligament injury in his right wrist, intervened in Santander by the Spanish surgeon Francisco del Piñal. The procedure, which was successful, consisted of the arthroscopic reconstruction of damaged ligaments.

The Israeli judoka was referred to the clinic of Dr. Del Piñal by Dr. Hagar Patish, Head of the Hand Surgery Unit at Barzilai University Medical Center (Ashkelon, Israel) and member of the Israeli Society for Sports Medicine.
