The meeting, backed by the Nicola’s Foundation Onlus, has taken place in the city of Arezzo

The surgical technique of toe to hand transfer has focused Dr. Del Piñal’s activity on the ‘Dissection Course for Upper Limb Reconstruction’, promoted by the Italian Society for Surgery of the Hand and held in Arezzo between last December 5 and 7.
During this training activity, supported by the Nicola’s Foundation Onlus, Del Piñal discussed his experience in the toe-to-hand transplant procedure, as well as joint reconstruction from the foot as a donor area and the correction of bone defects using free flaps.
The main goal of the course was the technical improvement in the dissection of the upper limb by specialists in plastic and orthopedic surgery.
