Del Pinal addresses the latest techniques for thumb reconstruction during the 68th annual meeting of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand

The meeting took place at the Moscone West Convention Center in San Francisco

San Francisco hosted the 68th edition of the annual meeting of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. The meeting, held from 3 to 5 October, was attended by Dr. Francisco del Pinal, who presented the latest techniques in reconstructive surgery of the thumb, during one of the scheduled instructional courses.

Moscone Convention Center, with Dr. Del Pinal: Drs. Marcos Nunez, dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the UNIBE (Dominican Republic), Luis Sheker, global reference in prostheses development and professor at the University of Louisville and Linda Cendales, professor at Emory University School of Medicine and a pioneer in hand transplants in the U.S.

Del Pinal, along with Drs. Paul Smith (United Kingdom) and S. Raja Sabapathy (India) discussed various aspects related to the reconstruction of the thumb, either due to traumatic issues or birth defects derived.

Also, the Spanish surgeon participated in a parallel meeting of the International Wrist Investigation Workshop. This medical group, composed of about 100 physicians selected by invitation worldwide, works to develop and analysis new clinical techniques not yet implemented.
