The Spanish surgeon received this distinction during the XIXth edition of the annual symposium on hand surgery by this American medical institution

Last week the Spanish surgeon Francisco del Piñal received a new international recognition for his medical-scientific trajectory, with his designation as honored professor of The Philadelphia Hand Center, one of the most prestigious specialised centers in upper limb conditions in the United States.

During his stay in the US independence ‘capital’, Dr. Piñal gave a series of lectures on his techniques of treatment of radius fractures and articular traumas by arthroscopy, in addition to performing demonstrative interventions of wrist surgery.

The Philadelphia Hand Center, founded in 1976, is the nucleus of a network of 19 centers in the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with clinical-surgical teams operating in nearly 30 hospitals. At present, it is led by Dr. Lee Osterman, Professor of Orthopedic and Hand Surgery for the Thomas Jefferson University.
