Patient, young woman, domestic accident when her hands got trapped by electric blinds. After more than twelve hours in the operating room, Dr Piñal and his surgical unit managed to restore functionality of the patient’s upper limbs through a combination of reconstructive microsurgery techniques (following video with english subtitles).

As reported in the story by Verónica González Ortega for TVE (Spanish public television), released during Sunday’s night newscast, María Ángeles, the patient, had gone through several failed interventions before going to Dr Piñal. She stated to be incapable of performing any kind of daily task before this new procedure, with hands that “were of no use”, after being trapped and affected by severe electrical burns.

Francisco del Piñal is considered one of the world’s best upper limb surgeons, thanks to the development of new techniques and innovative surgical approaches that are recognized and applied on an international scale.
