This training is integrated into the program of the Mayo School of Continuous Professional Development

The Spanish surgeon Francisco del Piñal was part of the lecturer panel of the course Disorders of the Wrist 2016, a training action integrated in the program of continuing professional specialization of the Mayo Clinic, considered one of the best hospitals in the United States.

From Thursday to Sunday last week, a selection of the best American and international specialists in the upper limb analyzed the main clinical conditions of the wrist and the radioulnar joint, besides presenting the latest advances in the surgical techniques of arthroplasty and arthroscopy.

It was precisely this last field, the arthroscopic treatment of pathologies of the upper limb, which focused most of the interventions of Dr. Del Piñal. Thus, Del Piñal addressed the use of dry arthroscopy in perilunate injuries, arthroscopic repair of complex fractures or the arthroscopic intercarpal fusions in cases of wrist arthritis.

In turn, the Spanish surgeon explained the details of his technique of using vascularized bone in carpal reconstructive surgery.
