Dr. Francisco Piñal, a leading hand surgery specialist, gave the keynote lecture at the joint Ibero-American and Portuguese Society of Hand Surgery Congress, held from 3 to 6 October in Coimbra. During this event, he presented his definitive results on Sudeck’s disease or reflex sympathetic dystrophy in the prestigious Journal of Hand Surgery in the USA.

The XXVIII Portuguese Congress of Hand Surgery and the XIV Ibero-Latin American Congress of Hand Surgery is the result of the joint work of the Portuguese Society of Hand Surgery and the Ibero-Latin American Hand Surgery Group (ILA), with the participation of the German Society of Hand Surgery (DGH) as guest society.
