“I think I could not have imagined what was one of the best decisions to complement my training as a resident. To the chief and all his team, thank you very much for everything you have taught me.”
Why did you choose Dr. Piñal’s residency programme?
Although I was a resident starting my specialty when I chose the external rotation, it was clear to me. I had attended congresses where I was able to listen to him moderating several roundtable discussions, and he exuded a passion for hand and wrist surgery. I don’t think I could have imagined what was one of the best decisions to complement my training as a resident….
How would you describe your experience from a professional point of view?
Dr. Piñal is a world reference for hand and wrist surgery who instills surgical knowledge, workmanship and precision. It is truly fortunate to have been able to learn so much from him and his team in these two months, I think it has been a very enriching experience.
Madrid, personal impressions of the city, places not to be missed, advice for new residents…
Madrid is a different city to the rest of Spain, with a lot to see, learn and discover, but I have to admit that what I will miss are the salads from the Miga restaurant that we ate while we were getting ready to start the afternoon at the Hospital Universitario La Luz.
Anything else?
As one of his most famous phrases says: “Knowledge is not contagious”. However, as it is said in many other fields, you have to surround yourself with people who know more than you do, and I could not have chosen a better team. To the Boss and all his team, thank you very much for everything you have taught me.
