ABSTRACT (full text, pdf. below, Sp )

Non-Typical Replantations and Revascularizations of the Thumb (Sp)

Nine patients are presented which after sustaining thumb amputation or devascularization required uncornmon manoeuvres for salvage or reconstruction. The mechanism of injury most commonly involved a combination of avulsion-crush (8/9). Eight required inmediate surgery since there was acute ischemia, in the other a pollicization of a damaged index, was done 48 hours after the injury. Only in one patient, replantation failed; the rest achived a functional thumb. Replantation of the thumb.
