Why did you choose Dr. del Piñal’s residency program?

With a remarkable body of work and many years of experience supporting his reputation, Dr. Piñal is a reference for any resident interested in the rigorous study of hand surgery. The opportunity to work alongside him and his team, observing how he meticulously plans every surgical procedure, was something I deeply wished to be part of my training as a Plastic Surgery resident.

In my case, I find myself increasingly drawn to upper limb reconstruction because of the enormous functional impact it has on the most everyday activities and, consequently, on patients’ quality of life. For this reason, spending these months alongside one of the world’s leading surgeons in this field has not only allowed me to acquire knowledge but has also transformed the way I approach key aspects of surgical practice.

How would you describe your experience from a professional perspective?

Without a doubt, these have been months of profound learning. The way Dr. Piñal approaches each case, with meticulous planning and a clear commitment to individualized decision-making, reflects a level of excellence that is difficult to find. Every problem is analyzed rigorously until the best possible solution is identified.

Having grown up in Segovia and completed my medical studies in Madrid, I can confidently say that it is a city that leaves no one indifferent. With its vast range of opportunities, it allows every visitor to immerse themselves in an endless variety of activities, both academic and recreational.

Although my stay in Santander was brief, the experience in the clinic is highly recommended.
