The decision to visit Dr. Piñal stemmed from my motivation to learn firsthand from one of the finest surgeons of our time. His international recognition and his extraordinary ability to convey knowledge and passion for reconstructive surgery make him an undisputed leader in the field.

My time with Dr. Piñal and his team has changed the way I understand hand surgery and the reconstructive complexity that each case requires. His team never settles for a result that does not achieve reconstructive excellence, both functionally and aesthetically.

They are a constant source of inspiration and motivation. Choosing to continue my training and complement my professional development with Dr. Piñal was a decision based on the pursuit of excellence, the curiosity to learn from a world leader, and the commitment and desire to grow as an upper extremity microsurgeon.

What have you learned from your visit to the Dr. Piñal Institute and Associates?

From a plastic surgery perspective, they approach every case—regardless of its complexity or previous surgeries—with the goal of achieving a functional hand. Dr. Piñal is a world-renowned pioneer who takes on all types of hand pathology, offering hope for reconstruction even in the most complex cases. His clinical insight, technical precision, and microsurgical excellence make him an iconic role model for any resident passionate about reconstructive surgery.

The teaching environment is highly enriching, always offering insightful reflections on clinical cases and encouraging debate and discussion, which sustains constant motivation to continue learning.

Dr. Piñal has taught me the importance of perseverance, hard work, and the long hours dedicated to the operating room, to study, and to the analysis of cases and clinical decision-making.

What are your professional and personal conclusions from your training stay?

From a professional standpoint, this experience has marked a turning point in my training. I have acquired a more ambitious and rigorous vision of hand reconstructive surgery, understanding that each case must be approached with meticulous planning, surgical creativity, and an unwavering commitment to achieving the best possible outcome.

On a personal level, these months have been transformative. I have strengthened my scientific and technical knowledge and, above all, my clinical judgment, understanding that excellence requires preparation, self-criticism, and constant updating.

In conclusion, observing the dedication of Dr. Piñal and his team has taught me that reconstructive surgery is as much an art as it is a science, and that every case represents an opportunity for learning and growth.
